September 15, 2007 - Gordon Chong, FAIA kicks off our 2007-2008 Lecture Series discussing the California Academy of Science.

Gordon H. Chong, FAIA, FACHA, is the Founding Partner and President of Chong Partners Architecture with offices in San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego and London. The company provides strategic planning, urban design, architectural design, interior design and graphic design services to clients in healthcare, education, civic, institutional and commercial fields. Chong Partners Architecture emphasizes the importance of design to build livable communities and to foster social, cultural and ecological values.

With Mr. Chong’s visionary leadership and commitment to improving the quality of life through community-based design, he has been instrumental in the development of the company as one of Northern California's top practices. For more than 25 years, he has served as a technical and management resource for the firm's large commissions. Chong, a former president of the American Institute of Architects (2002), said his firm opened a San Diego office because he thinks people here value the natural and built environmental elements that enhance their quality of life, including architecture.
